Jimmy Kimmel taunts Trump with a humorous shot when his escalator stopped working
Donald Trump and Jimmy Kimmel’s feud appears to be far from over.
The TV host and president have been openly criticizing each other.
Their disagreement originates from ABC’s decision to temporarily ban Kimmel over remarks he made regarding Charlie Kirk and the president. Trump went on to praise the news, but Kimmel was quickly back on the air, flinging jibes in response.
Jimmy Kimmel Live returned to television on Tuesday (September 23), and Kimmel addressed the recent issue in his highly anticipated opening monologue.
When asked about Trump, he responded, “You almost have to feel sorry for him; he tried his best to cancel me, and instead he forced millions of people to watch the show.”
Kimmel went on to say, “The president of the United States has made it apparent that he wants to terminate me and the hundreds of other employees here.” Our leader celebrates Americans losing their jobs because he can’t take a joke.”
A day later, he called the president a ‘bully.’
Kimmel has made fun of Trump once more in light of the president and First Lady Melania Trump’s embarrassing moment at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Melania was in front of her husband when the escalator unexpectedly stopped.
The Trumps and their entourage were then forced to climb stairs instead.
Following the incident, Trump slammed the UN, claiming that it ‘would have been a tragedy’ if he and Melania had not held on to the handrail.
He then called for the arrest of those responsible for the crisis. Trump posted to Truth Social: “This was absolutely sabotage, as noted by a day’s earlier ‘post’ in The London Times that said UN workers ‘joked about turning off an escalator.’ The people who did it should be arrested!”
While Trump clearly hasn’t found the situation amusing, many others have, including Kimmel.
On September 26, the TV host posted a photo of his sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, riding an escalator.
Kimmel captioned the shot, “Headed to Brooklyn!” “The escalator is working great!”
The 57-year-old will be taping numerous gigs at Brooklyn Academy of Music next week.
The program will air from New York on Monday (September 29) through Friday (October 3).
Regarding the show’s temporary shift from its California headquarters, Kimmel joked that they have ‘stayed on the move so the FCC can’t catch us’.
