Just hours before her husband’s death, Charlie Kirk’s wife posted an alarming message on social media
Erika Lane Frantzve, the wife of Charlie Kirk, a prominent US activist, wrote a statement on social media that readers are viewing in a new way after her husband was murdered at age 31.
Frantzve and her two young children, whom she shared with Kirk, were present at the debating event at Utah Valley University on September 10, when Kirk was slain by a single bullet fired from a neighboring rooftop.
Kirk attended the discussion with his group, Turning Point, which he co-founded when he was just 18 years old. The group sought to propagate conservative beliefs at liberal-leaning US campuses, and Kirk became a contentious figure as he fought with students over transgender identity, climate change, and family values.
The debate footage captures Kirk standing under a white tent, delivering a speech into a microphone in front of a crowd, at the moment of his shooting.
Donald Trump, Kirk’s close associate, subsequently announced his death in a post on Truth Social, describing him as ‘famous.’
Attention has shifted to some of Kirk and his family’s final actions before the shooting, and social media fans couldn’t help but note that Frantzve had shared a Bible passage previously to the killing, which became even more tragic afterward.
At 12:45pm, she posted on X, previously Twitter, “Psalm 46:1—God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Within a few hours, Kirk’s death was verified.
Social media users have now bombarded Frantzve with condolences, with one user writing, “Jesus is holding you in his warm embrace.” We are heartbroken.
“The fact that you posted this before the event is a testament to the Lord,” said another.
A third person wrote, “Your husband is with Jesus.” He was a hero and an inspiration. You will see him again, but I understand it is no comfort for you and your darling babies right now. I am really sorry that you are going through this. Evil is pervasive in this country.”
Frantzve, the 2012 Miss Arizona USA, married Kirk in 2021 after meeting three years ago.
In a 2022 Instagram post, Frantzve raved over her spouse, saying, “God knew all along it was you. Charles James, you are my today and all of my tomorrows. How fortunate I am to have you as my husband and to be your wife. May our marriage continue to praise God. I adore you indefinitely.”
Frantzve and Kirk married and had two children: a girl in August 2022 and a son in May 2024.
