In week two of CBS’s ‘The World’s Best,’ fans were introduced to Dimash Kudaibergen, a 25-year-old from Kazakhstan with a breathtaking six-octave vocal range. Dimash, also known as “The Six-Octave Man,” made his American debut and wowed audiences with his remarkable voice and range.

Dimash’s musical journey began at the age of five, with piano and vocal instruction. He holds degrees from K. Zhubanov University in Aktobe and the Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana and has studied both classical and modern music. He is now pursuing a master’s degree in composition.

Dimash is known for his linguistic diversity, since he can perform in twelve languages, including Mandarin, English, French, Ukrainian, Italian, Turkish, Serbian, German, and Spanish. In his audition, he demonstrated his exceptional vocal range by describing how his voice was growing, preserving his high-pitched tone while expanding into a deeper range.

On stage, Dimash exuded confidence. Wearing a red sequined jacket, he began his performance with a delicate, quiet tone, gradually progressing through several registers with immaculate execution. The culmination of his performance, backed by spectacular flames and lighting, drew a standing ovation. He received flawless ratings from the celebrity judges and a 98 out of 100 from the global judges.

Drew Barrymore, one of the celebrity judges, summed up the astonishment, stating that Dimash sounded like numerous vocalists in one, seamlessly moving between different styles.
