Woman’s unique antique was turned away from ‘Antique Roadshow’ for heartbreaking reason…

People acquire stuff in all sorts of ways. Occasionally you find something at a garage sale, and occasionally it is because a family member died and left it to them. After taking ownership of the object, the owner may be inclined to determine its value so that it may be documented for insurance or sold.

On a recent edition of BBC One’s Antique Roadshow, a woman presented an ivory bracelet to be assessed. Surprisingly, the specialist seemed melancholy when confronted with this uncommon discovery. Ronnie Archer-Morgan, an antique specialist, painstakingly explains the bracelet’s significance during what looks to be a difficult emotional confrontation.

There would be no evaluation for this antique ivory bracelet embellished with lovely calligraphy around the perimeter. Archer-Morgan briefly mentions that he and the Antique Roadshow oppose the ivory trade, but this was not his reason for declining the ivory bracelet.

“This ivory bangle isn’t about trading ivory; it’s about trading human lives, and it’s probably one of the most difficult topics I’ve ever spoken about.” But we have to talk about it,” Archer-Morgan argues.

The woman had no idea what she had in her hands because she bought it at an estate sale over 30 years ago. One of the elderly patients she cared for passed away, and the lady discovered the ivory bracelet among the items for sale. She chose to buy the one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry after being particularly drawn to the bracelet with the fascinating writing around it.

After explaining that his great-grandmother was enslaved in Nova Scotia, Canada, before being repatriated to Sierra Leone, Archer-Morgan determined that he could not price the item.

“I simply don’t want to appreciate it. I don’t want to put a price on something that represents such bad business.” But the value lies in the lessons that this can teach people,” he tells the woman.

Finally, the woman leaves without knowing the monetary value of the object, but with a wealth of knowledge she lacked before her visit. She may now continue to explain the significance of the antique to others. Watch the complete explanation below:
